August 25th 2024,
We headed North to Wisconsin to Road America. The Amaxx Racing Team is no stranger to the Briggs and Stratton Motorplex, our team was up to the challenge.
Our tent filled up quickly with a total of 14 of our drivers competing in the Route 66 Sprint Series Event.
AJ Stoner cleaned up nicely finishing 1st in both heat races. This kid was on fire all weekend long. During Sunday's final AJ had to really put his race craft to work and pulled off a 3rd place podium finish. Stoner almost pulled off the win for the final leading the race with 1 to go…. But on track entanglements left him in 3rd with 6 turns to go before the checkered. He impressed everyone when he tried to go for the win again and just came up a tad short at the line coming in 3rd place.
Elam Stoner ran top 5 almost all weekend being only 8 years old in 206 cadet. Also bringing home the hard charger award for the weekend.
Brayden Rutter finished just outside of top 10, with this being his first time at the Road America Track. Brayden said “This was definitely one of my best races in KA100 Sr so far” A few minor setbacks caused Brayden to start in the back of Sunday's Final, however that did not slow him down. Brayden found his speed and moved up to the 15th position earning himself the Hard Charger Award.
Diesel Maxwell…
We love Diesel’s Heart for the sport!
If it could happen…. It did. Luck was not on his side this weekend, however that never slowed Diesel down! Diesel kept his mind in the game and pulled off a 7th place finish despite the obstacles.
Adam Maxwell worked hard this weekend alongside Scott Hamble to keep it in the front all weekend long. Top 5 in KA100 Sr for all practices and all heats, followed by a DNF in the final was a hard one to swallow due to mechanical component failure.
Lincoln Willey tackled Road America like the amazing 8 year old he is. He ran fast times all weekend and his finishing spot did not give him the credit he deserved. Lots of potential in the driver and we can't wait to see what is next.
Brayden Johnson says “it was definitely one of the harder weekends of the season” but that didn't stop him from feeling like the event was a great learning experience and gaining a lot of set up knowledge for his future in the Sport.
Rayder Santos puts in consistent work, and it shows. He showed up at Road America and pulled off his first national top 10 finish! He works weekly with Coach Charles and puts in the time to prove he belongs in the front.
Cami Fister never seizes to amaze us! THIS GIRL IS DETERMINED. Carb issues and getting caught up in an accident in heat one really set the tone for this event for Cami. Kart Work, Driver Coaching, Sweat, and possibly some tears all went into Cami making it to Sunday’s Final, but she did just that, she made it, never once giving up on her goals despite everything going wrong. This wasn't the weekend Cami wanted to have, but that won't ever slow her down on achieving her goals
Thomas Anthony ran strong all weekend long. He ran steady in the top 10 throughout practice and heat races, by the end of the final he was working his way to a podium finish but unfortunately, he just did not have enough laps left and finished right outside of the top 5. As always, we love to watch Thomas develop as a driver every time he hits the track.
After Sunday Final the Team walked away with several hard charger awards and podium finishes, 6 in total. We Couldn't be more proud of each of our drivers and their personal accomplishments they achieved during this event!
