July 20th and 21st brought us back to our home track of Whiteland Raceway Park for IKC race number 6 and 7 for the 1st double header of the season! Day 1 we had a full house
with 1-Kid Kart, 4-Cadets, 3-Juniors, and 5-Senior drivers, who were ready to do battle on track.
ON DAY 1:
Diesel Maxwell took the sweep for qualifying, heat and WIN for the final in the Kid Kart Class.
Senior Medium class is always a fun filled class to keep an eye on and one of the toughest classes at WRP! Brayden Johnson went out and dominated and brought home the VICTORY! Another heavily contested class is the Senior Lights. Once again Brayden Johnson went out and never looked back ultimately coming home in P2.
Thomas Anthony broke out and race hard and fast in both 206 JR and KA JR! After leading several laps and many battles, Thomas brought home 3rd place in both classes!
Overall, our team had a great showing we couldn't be prouder of each and every one of them! Overall, we had:
1-P1
1-P2
2-P3
2 Top 5's
4-Top 10's.
We put our karts to bed, with dreams and visions of doing it all again the next day! And that we did!!!
DAY 2:
After a great day 1, we showed we had a lot of strength and speed in our garage, which lite a fire under our drivers and it showed out on track once again!
Diesel Maxwell went out and took the sweep and WIN once again in the Kid Kart Class.
Thomas Anthony took his 3rd place from day one and greatly improved on that finish to WIN the 206 JR class! Practice and the Perserverance of a never give up attitude is always one of Thomas's mottos and he did exactly that!!!!
Brayden Johnson continued to show his dominance on track and WON the 206 SR light class
This is another reason that Brayden is a great drivers coach and shows his team how to win!
Lincoln Willey is one of those great kids that puts his heart and soul into the track, and you can find him there almost every day learning his race craft! Lincolns hard work paid off with a 3rd place finish in the Mini class!
All of our drivers work very hard practicing and learning as much information as the can on and off track! We had several other driver place in the top 5 and 10 of their classes! Each one of our drivers with us this weekend place into one of those categories if not 2 or more!
Overall day 2 looks amazing!
3-1st Place
1-3rd Place
5-Top 5's
8-Top 10's
We can't thank our coaches and parents enough for all they do to make all this happen!
Most of our drivers have a couple weeks of down time until our schedule gets very busy once again. A few of them will compete in SKUSA Summer Nationals at NCMP next week and we are excited to cheer them on! Look for a new blog on them soon!
